What is intellectual property?
It’s an area of law that is a specialized form of protection for businesses and people. It allows the creation of tangible right for inventions by way of a patent, for brands by way of a federally registered trademark, for works of art and authorship by way of copyrights, and for secret formulas and recipes and such as trade secret. So intellectual property is widely discussed and little known, and I highly recommend getting with somebody that has some experience in this field, if not as a board specialty.
