What is a trade secret?

A trade secret is anything of commercial value that one business knows about how to make money in their business that their competitors would like to know. That’s pretty much everything you know about how to make money selling hamburgers or shoes or whatever you’re doing. So it could how you price stuff, how you sort stuff, your customer list. Don’t you think Nike would like to know the list of people that bought Adidas tennis shoes? Sure they would. And what does Adidas do with that list? They keep it secret.
